GridSlash
GridSlash is a head-to-head territory duel built on Japanese rectangle-division puzzles.
Your goal is to carve up a shared board turn-by-turn against an opponent. Claim rectangles matching the numbers on the grid, outmaneuver your opponent for surrounding influence over dead zones, and strike at the right time to claim the most territory!
Outsmart a multi-tiered bot ladder or play against a friend in local hot-seat.
CARVING
When the grid fills up, pull off "The Carve": with this special move, you can sacrifice your own territory to drive a new capture through the opening and pivot the balance of power in your favor. Carves are an optional gameplay mechanic and off by default, but when you're ready to master the game you can turn them on in the main title screen.
CONTROLS
GridSlash is entirely touch and mouse friendly:
- Select Number: Tap or click any numbered cell to preview a legal rectangle to capture. Tap again to cycle through the different capture shapes available.
- Confirm / Cancel: Lock in your capture with Confirm, or clear your selection with Cancel.
- Carve: Tap the Carve button, select one of your existing groups to sacrifice, and place a new capture through the vacated space (the new capture must re-use at least one cell sacrificed to the carve).
GridSlash is a game from Chroma Golem, where we're experimenting with all kinds of games. We also run the Chroma Golem Discord for gamers and game devs that we'd love to see you at — for feedback and also to hear about your games!
